Sometimes it is a mild pain related to chewing or only when you drink something hot or cold. Sometimes the pain is severe, spontaneous and can wake you up in the middle of the night. A toothache could be caused by several things: a cavity in the tooth, a crack in the tooth, an exposed root or maybe even gum disease. When you come in to our office with a toothache we make sure you are seen right away. A digital x-ray is taken to help us find out where the problem is coming from. A series of dental tests are performed on the tooth to also determine what the problem is. Once we determine what is causing the pain we then discuss all the treatment options and determine the best treatment for you.
